Avanthi is interested in studying the functional significance of genes associated with vascular disease. Avanthi graduated with a BA/MS from the University of Pennsylvania, and an MD from Harvard Medical School in 2017. She completed internal medicine residency at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she is currently a clinical fellow in cardiovascular medicine. Her prior research focused on the functional significance of GWAS-identified loci for lipid traits. Her work is currently supported by the John S. LaDue Memorial Fellowship.
