Heather obtained her PhD in molecular medicine from the George Washington University. Her graduate work focused on the stress-induced elevations in heart rate and blood pressure that occur in the highly prevalent cardiovascular disease, obstructive sleep apnea. Heather joined the Ellinor lab in August 2015. Using cellular and animal models, she has focused her research efforts on elucidating the functional significance of genes associated with atrial fibrillation.
