Martin completed clinical training in Cardiology in China and obtained his PhD in the lab of Dr. Charles Lowenstein at the University of Rochester, NY, researching on the regulation of endothelial exocytosis and thrombosis. Martin joined the Ellinor lab in July 2019 after postdoctoral training under Dr. Sekar Kathiresan. He was an HHMI “Med-into-Grad” Fellow in Cardiovascular Sciences at the University of Rochester, and received a Predoctoral Fellowship by the American Heart Association. In the Ellinor lab, he studied novel genetic risk factors for coronary artery disease. He left in June 2021 for his residency at Kaiser Permanente Mid-Atlantic States Internal Medicine Residency Program, near DC.
