Nathan Tucker obtained his Ph.D. from Washington State University in Cell Biology and Genetics. His research there focused on the function of small heat shock proteins in striated muscle tissues. Upon joining the Ellinor Lab in 2012, he focused on determining novel genes and molecular mechanisms that underlie atrial fibrillation. In May 2020, Nathan started in his own lab at MMRI – Masonic Medical Research Institute in Utica, NY.
