Shinwan Kany, MD joined the Ellinor Lab in April 2022. He graduated from Medical School in Frankfurt am Main (Germany). During his studies he spent time at the University Hospital in Zurich, Switzerland and the University of Illinois at Chicago, US. Since graduating, he has been in training as a cardiovascular fellow at the University Heart Center Hamburg, Germany where he is interested in cardiac arrhythmias. He has been involved in clinical research in atrial fibrillation and outcomes in catheter ablation and left atrial appendage closure. His focus in the Ellinor Lab is elucidating the mechanism of atrial fibrillation and heart failure using machine learning and genetics.
