Therese is originally from Orange County, CA but became an east-coast convert after attending Swarthmore College, located right outside Philadelphia, PA. She studied biology at Swarthmore and conducted biochemistry research there studying the co-evolution of the HIV envelope and broadly neutralizing antibodies to inform HIV-1 vaccine design. Outside of work, she runs a small baking business called Toscah Bakery and loves to dance salsa, bachata, or any Afro-Caribbean techniques in her free time.
