Zeina earned her Ph.D at l’institut du thorax at Nantes, France, in cardiac electrophysiology and arrhythmias in 2019. Her thesis, supervised by Dr. Patricia Lemarchand and Dr. Nathalie Gaborit, focused on using cardiomyocytes derived from induced pluripotent stem cells to study two facets of cardiac arrhythmias one due to a mutation in a transcription factor and another with unknown genetic factor called Brugada syndrome. Following her Ph.D, she joined Paris cardiovascular research center and worked for about three years as postdoctoral associate  where she focused on investigating a common molecular mechanism underlying drug-induced long QT syndrome.  In her free time she likes cooking, exploring new cities (traveling) and dance.
